A bit about the manufacture: Al-Ko Ginge was established in 1917 under the name of Holger Nielsen & Co. Among its first products were fire extinguishers under the brand name of "Ginge", but the product-range soon contained many different products from mangles to chicken brooders. In 1930 Ginge Fabriker A/S was established, and the best known products from that time are the cylinder reel lawnmower and shaving blades. In 1972 Ginge moved from Copenhagen to Brønderslev in Northern Jutland, and the following years were very turbulent. In 1989 Ginge A/S bought the Gudenaa Factory in Silkeborg. At the factory in Brønderslev, where the sales department and the administration are situated, the production of cylinder reel lawn mowers was concentrated, while the gas-powered rotary lawn mowers are now made at the parent company's specialised factories in Austria and Italy. Through 80 years Ginge's products have spread to an increasingly large market, and the most well-known product: lawnmowers are today to be found worldwide.
