JOB DETAILS The District Operations Manager (DOM) operates within a specific district and acts as Nissan?s primary point of contact with dealers to: foster a positive relationship and improve dealers performance in areas such as Sales Penetration, Customer Voice and Profitability; represent Nissan?s corporate interests when working with the dealer, including contractual agreements; provide timely details and reporting to both parties. POSITION FUNCTIONS The DOM acts as a hands-on business consultant to dealerships in his/her territory. The DOM will help the retailer to: Align his business with local market conditions; Decide on product mix and sales strategy; Set longterm plans for the dealership; Maximize allocation coverage, inventory turns and that inventory reflects market opportunity; Develop staff competencies and capabilities; Conduct local marketing activities; Improve prospecting, lead management and customer retention/loyalty activities; Analyze the financial aspects of the business, including operations and capital investments; Develop customer satisfaction initiatives aimed at maximizing customer retention/loyalty. 60% The DOM also acts as a critical liaison between Nissan and dealers. On a monthly basis the DOM will: Communicate Nissan sales and marketing programs to dealer staff; Provide dealers with contact reports which include candid performance feedback; Ensure each dealer has developed and implemented a sales and marketing plan; Ensure accurate forecasting as required; Ensure on-going adherence to NCI standards & programs. 30% The DOM is expected to address such diverse issues as facilities standards, succession planning, competitive developments, sales and marketing plans, new market representation opportunities and staff training programs. 10% MIN REQUIREMENTS Knowledge: A university degree preferred in business/marketing or equivalent background plus a min of 5 years business background with at least 2 yrs in the automotive industry. Well developed consultancy skills in the areas of retail awareness; business plan development & process; continuous dealership improvement; automotive marketing principles; financial statement analysis and team development (HR basics).
