The Soundtube RS80 is a premium 8-inch, two way, ported, high-efficiency, high-SPL loudspeaker for distributed or 8 ohm applications. The RS80 incorporates a dedicated 8-inch treated-fiber woofer & three 1.75-inch compression tweeters (33.3° apart) encased in Soundtube's patented ZeroReflection enclosures. The Omni36O° Dispersion design produces more sound over a wider space.
The ZeroReflection technology provides individual "shaped" enclosures for each driver to optimize driver performance While eliminating standing Wave distortion and unwanted coiorations (caused by conventional single enclosures). The Woofer is mounted in the RS ported bass enclosure (T) which eliminates the "boxy" sound of conventional speakers The predictable internal standing wave phenomena that
occurs with poth straight tube and pox enclosures is dissipated through SoundTube's continually curving surfaces & heavily damped wall materials. The enclosure produces a more accurate, articulate and robust bass.
Unlike conventional speakers, which can only concentrate full range sound in a limited area, Soundtube's Omni36O° Dispersion design produces more sound over a far wider area. True 360° omnidirectional dispersion is made possible through a series of multipie drivers and computer optimized acoustic "lenses" that disperse sound in all directions.
