Spirit Longbow by John Strunk - $400 in Calgary, Alberta for sale

John Strunk is considered by many to be America's premier bowyer; each of his bows is a one of a kind work of art. Here is a rare find; an early John Strunk composite longbow, made in 1982. This beautiful longbow is 71 inches tip to tip (69-1/2 inches nock to nock), with three full length laminations of choice Osage. It has black glass on the belly, back, and between a lamination at the tip of both sleek fast limbs. It has a powerful 69 lb draw weight at 27 inches of draw length. It is a right handed bow (right hand draw). The grip has comfortable heavy suede, with the same material on the arrow shelf. It is in very good condition; it looked brand new when I got it; I put a few slight marks on it. I have only shot a couple dozen arrows with it. The draw weight is just too much for me with my 31 inch draw length (it calculates to 80 some pounds at 31 inches); otherwise I would keep it, plain and simple.
